Hotel Sunder Palace - A Heritage Style Boutique Hotel

The staff were really nice, and there’s a restaurant downstairs with delicious food. My room was super comfortable, with a really nice bed and hot water always available in the shower. Highly recommended.

Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hotel is within walking distance of several bars and restaurants. What really stood out was what happened after checkout. We misplaced a bag of belongings, which turned up several days later, and Mohan and the manager, Rajesh Gupta, went out of their way to courier it to us. We also accidentally left our IDs, and they arranged to send those to our other hotel. Their hospitality and help after we’d checked out made the experience truly exceptional. Thank you so much!

The restaurant may be outsourced, or perhaps run by a friend of the owner. I’d booked breakfast with my room, but in the morning it felt like serving it was a burden to them. I don’t think an outside guest paying in cash would have been treated the same way. The hotel is new and the stay was generally good, though the rooms need maintenance and cleanliness could be better.

The location was the only thing that worked for us. We paid 10k per night and got almost no service or facilities. After a long flight, we were put in a room where we couldn’t even use basic things like the commode and mirror, and had to argue early in the morning to get another room so we could freshen up. The restaurant was being renovated, and they couldn’t provide morning tea because they had neither milk nor ginger. There’s nothing “Sundar” or “Luxury” about The Sundar Palace. I was born and raised in Jaipur, and I feel it’s a shame to the hospitality and service Jaipur is known for. Don’t be taken in by the online pictures or the beautiful exterior, we were extremely disappointed and frustrated. I wouldn’t recommend it.
