The Grand Anukampa Hotels & Suites

The pool was advertised, but when we tried to use it, we were turned away and told it was being used for a “private party.” Nobody mentioned that when we booked, which felt misleading. The staff were also rude, dismissive, and unprofessional throughout our stay. At check-in, despite our confirmed Agoda booking, they asked for an extra ₹200 per person as a “cleaning charge.” This hadn't been disclosed beforehand and felt like a bait-and-switch. I also paid ₹300 for breakfast, but what arrived was a disappointing paratha and poha with poor taste and quality, nothing like what I'd expect from a hotel promoting high ratings. Our stay at The Grand Anukampa Hotels & Suites fell well short of expectations. It's hard to understand how the property has such high ratings, and I'd advise travelers to think twice before booking.

The shared pool, used by three hotels, wasn't properly cleaned. Its stated hours were 7 AM to 10 AM, but we waited almost an hour that morning and left without getting to swim. It's frustrating to pay separately for facilities that aren't maintained or available on time. We booked two rooms at The Grand Hotels and Suites. When we arrived, the hotel asked for another ₹200 per person on top of the booking amount, calling it an “Amenities Charge” for things like the pool, parking, and gym. Those costs should have been made clear when booking. The first room's AC didn't work, and it took nearly an hour after we complained to move us. Towels and toothbrush kits were missing too. Reception said casually that “everyone brings their own here,” which was unprofessional. In the second room, the bathroom water supply was poor, causing a lot of inconvenience for my parents. The service, management, and hospitality were extremely poor. It wasn't worth the money, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Guests described the location as good and the atmosphere as pleasant. Some said the hotel offered good value for money, and that the rooms were spacious or comfortable. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They gave excellent assistance from check-in to check-out. Many guests at the flats and hostels also said the staff were courteous. Rahul sankhla Ji was mentioned as a helpful staff member.

The room I was given was filthy: used beds, a full dustbin, a dirty kitchen sink, and a broken bathroom flush. I was charged for an extra bed, but it wasn't there. Cleaning and repairs only happened at 1:00 AM after I insisted. I had also paid for breakfast for three adults, but received only two portions. The staff seemed helpless, and the property was in very poor condition, damaging the reputation of the “Hotel Grand” brand. I booked Hotel Grand through Agoda and paid in advance, yet they initially said there was no booking under my name. After repeated calls and intervention, I was eventually allowed to check in. At reception, several guests were demanding refunds over dirty rooms and missing basic facilities. The hotel seemed to be used mostly by unmarried couples coming to enjoy themselves, which made me feel uncomfortable and scared. Overall, the stay was terrible and unacceptable.
