Vesta Maurya Palace

The lobby looks lovely and the outside is nice, but I’m unsure I’d recommend staying here. I’d rate it three stars because the room cleanliness was disappointing. Stains were on our pillowcases, and the floor made our feet so dirty that we had to wash them before bed, then put socks or shoes back on. Pencil shavings we noticed at check-in were still there days later, along with white residue by a chair. The lamps still had plastic on them, which made the room feel not really meant to be lived in. When we asked to have the pillowcases changed, someone came quickly, though they seemed not to believe they were dirty until we showed the stains. They were replaced then. Hand towels weren’t replaced or left for the next day, so we had to ask for fresh ones each day. Staff did replenish the water daily and made the bed nicely. We started using the stairs because the elevators felt cramped, but the stairway was crowded with mattresses and packs of water bottles. Getting out in an emergency would have been very difficult. The labels by the sink were confusing too: a lotion bottle was marked as soap, and what seemed to be soap was labeled shampoo. In the shower, both a shower gel and body wash were provided. I’d bring my own shampoo and conditioner or buy small bottles. We would have been happier if the rooms had felt cleaner.

We had two rooms for four people, and both were spacious, clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The atmosphere was lovely, and we didn’t run into any problems. Everything went smoothly from check-in through check-out. The staff were welcoming and friendly, always happy to help. It was a wonderful stay, and I’d recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a comfortable, pleasant visit.

The staff were generally helpful, and the manager said the hotel would be renovated in 2026, so it may be better after that. For now, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The beautiful exterior and lobby don’t match the rooms, which are dated and poorly maintained, with peeling paint and scratched wood. There was dust on the glass cabinets, scuffing on the floors, no art on the walls, and no hangers in the closet. The towels were clean but thin and rough, like they’d been washed and used too many times. This definitely isn’t a four-star hotel by North American or Indian standards. It felt closer to 2.5 stars.
