The staff made our stay at Nirmal Haweli especially good. They arranged taxis, safaris, and sightseeing, and gave us helpful guidance on where to go. The railway station is about 2 km away, while Jaisalmer Fort is an easy walk. We had a wonderful time staying here.
We found the rates a little high for the amenities available, though the staff were very helpful and prompt. We had booked three rooms, and one had a smell because of sealing outside the bathroom wall. Even so, the stay was good overall.
The staff were very warm and offered help arranging desert activities. There's plenty of parking nearby despite the hotel being on a narrow lane. The building has the look of a haveli, made with the yellow stone found around Jaisalmer, which gives it an authentic feel. It's a lovely place, and ibibo or oyo can be used to book.
We had a horrible stay. Water from the tap faucets gave us an electric shock while we were bathing, the toilet spray didn't work, and they didn't even provide handwash during the present Covid period. The owner was rude and mannerless, and seemed focused on taking money from guests. The service and amenities were the worst. Please avoid this place or stay at your own risk. Hotels like this should be banned from the hospitality industry.
The room hadn't been cleaned, and there were pigeon feathers inside. Service was poor, with only one person on duty; when we asked, he said all the staff were on leave, which seemed hard to believe. They refused our request for hot water to freshen up, and breakfast was late. There was no customer-focused service.
