Stay Simple Jaisagarh by OYO Rooms

The garden has a nice party feel, the food is amazing, and the location works perfectly for us. We booked 6 rooms today at Hotel Zone by park, Jaislamer, where we’re staying now, and everyone in our group is very satisfied. We need Jain food, and the staff arranged excellent meals for us. They’ve all been humble, polite, and cooperative. We also saw a different group of about 15-20 people making things difficult for the staff. The receptionist politely asked each guest for ID, which is a standard mandatory procedure, but the group argued that one ID should be enough and lectured the receptionist. Staff tried to explain calmly, but the guests wouldn’t listen and blamed the hotel for food, service, and other things. Some didn’t know their room numbers and gave incorrect details, then complained about delays even as the receptionist patiently asked them to confirm the right room. They were rude and threatened to post bad reviews. Later, 5-6 people loudly said the food was bad but ate everything on their plates. The group and their children also made a lot of noise, disturbing other guests. From what we saw, these problems weren’t caused by hotel management. It’s unfair to blame a hotel and damage its reputation for personal convenience when the fault is in one’s own behaviour. People should act responsibly in a hotel before judging its shortcomings or strengths. Our own stay has been comfortable, with excellent food, service, and hospitality.

The room’s position was the biggest problem for us. It faced what seemed to be a staff storage area and sat opposite the dining room, so there was plenty of traffic and noise late into the evening. The large en-suite had solar hot water, but we had to leave the taps running for a while first, which wastes water. We had a smooth check-in and got our rooms quickly. Finding the hotel was easy too, since it’s marked on maps just off the NH, reached by a service road. The room itself, though, wasn’t ready for guests. We had to go back and forth with reception, housekeeping, and maintenance over towels, water, cups, and a working fan regulator knob. Food was average at best and disappointing for the price. Maybe that’s common for this chain in this price range, but the cost didn’t match the quality. Dining staff seemed to prioritize larger groups, and our requests for water refills and a dessert order were left unattended for a while. Parking on the property was chaotic. Guests parked oddly close to other vehicles, and there didn’t seem to be anyone helping larger vehicles like Force Travelers park properly. It wasn’t a great stay. We’d hoped for better since Jaisalmer was the focus of our vacation, but the rooms, guest experience, and staff training fell short.

We’d been concerned by the negative Google reviews before arriving, but our own stay turned out very differently. Everyone in our group had a wonderful time. The hotel was comfortable, the food was delicious, and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. We were truly satisfied.

The property looks great, and there are probably some nice spots around it for photos. Our one-night stay was fine: the room was comfortable, breakfast was better than the okay dinner. We did have to switch one room because of a smell from the restroom, but otherwise it was a decent place for a night.
