Tejomaya Guesthouse

The camels were well cared for, we went as a small group and saw very few other people during the overnight trip. The food was decent, and I'm glad I went, even though the safari wasn't quite everything they advertise. Tojomaya picked me up from the night bus and persuaded me to join their camel safari. We each paid 2500 rupees. I know very private safaris can be found for only 600 rupees if you take the 40 rupee bus to Khuri. They first tried to charge me 3000, but I got 500 back. You'll see one small village, but they exaggerate the other experiences.

The room was neat and clean, and cost only 300 INR. The camel safaris they offer are fantastic. Bablu is friendly and very polite, and the atmosphere feels familiar. He invited us to have tea on the lovely rooftop, and showed us a nice sunset point nearby. You can reach everything in Jaisalmer on foot, so there's no need for a rickshaw. Staying here helped me recover from what can be a stressful journey through India. Thank you.

The location in old Jaisalmer is very bad. The rooms were filthy, especially the bathroom, where there wasn't even water to flush. There was a strong smell coming from both the room and washroom. The owner showed no interest in dealing with the guests' problems. I'd suggest finding somewhere else to spend the night comfortably.

Bablu welcomes you warmly. This feels more like a HOME where you can really stay, not a touristy guest house. There's a free kitchen, and a rooftop with carpets and a table. The rooms are clean and big, and the atmosphere is happy. Non touristic SAFARI is available here, provided by Patan.
