Savrupson Heritage

I booked a stay here for my elderly British Indian parents because the reviews made me think they would be looked after. Instead, I believe they fell victim to a major fraud ring that began at Savrupson Heritage Home. The matter has been reported to the police and other verified government officials. From the moment they arrived at this Airbnb homestay, my parents were, without their knowledge, being told lies. Since the stay, they have lost a large amount of money to the owners, who we thought were refurbishing my parents’ nearby villa. The owners had also verified the identity of someone posing as a worker for the Indian government, who is still defrauding people around Punjab. They then distanced themselves from the situation and blamed another person, which we now know is untrue. I advise staying away. I don’t consider this place safe.

The haveli is a little piece of paradise in Punjab, full of cultural artefacts and set in beautiful grounds, with bespoke rooms. Manmohan Singh and his wonderful family welcomed us. Dinesh (son) and his wife Shirpa were the most hospitable hosts we’ve ever met. We really appreciated the breakfast made with organic, homegrown produce. I went to Jalandhar with my 14 year old son for a tennis tournament and was worried before checking in. Once we arrived, the family treated us like guests in their own home, and every member was so helpful. The room was fabulous, with a big balcony and garden views from three sides, plus a TV, fridge, and room heater. We visited in January, and it was horrible there other than regular once. The home is close to the market, food outlets, and nearby grocery stores. They even let me use my rice cooker, so I could make my food very conveniently. This really felt like a home away from home. When traveling, you might usually look for accommodation, but you have to visit Jalandhar to stay here.

Dineshji was knowledgeable and passionate about local history and culture, and his guidance helped me plan local trips. We also enjoyed spending time with the family and learning about the area. Dineshji, Bhabiji, and the other family members made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. At Savrupson Heritage Home, our room was comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated. The homemade food was delicious and authentic, especially the breakfast Bhabiji made. The family’s warmth, the comfortable stay, and the local experiences made this an unforgettable homestay. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an immersive local experience.
