Hotel Meridian By OYO Rooms

A nice hotel with really supportive staff. It has a family-like feel.

The worst part was what happened during the night. My father and I came back from dinner around 9:45 pm and saw people in the next room arguing heatedly. When they noticed us, they shut their door. We didn't get involved, since it was their business. But around 1:30 am, someone forcefully pounded on our door as if trying to break in. It happened twice. We complained at reception, and the staff member just told the people next door that we'd complained. The banging started again around 2:30 am, and someone tried to force their way in. We reported it again; it stopped after about 10 minutes. That left us seriously questioning our safety. The next day, when we asked what kind of people the hotel was letting stay there, they said they didn't know. I still can't get my head around what might have happened. If you want to risk your life, go ahead. There were plenty of other problems too. Our room was tiny compared to the photos, and I couldn't find any good restaurants nearby, only small dhabas where the hygiene seemed awful. The AC was controlled from reception, with no remote for us; it blew cold air for five minutes, then switched to regular airflow. The washroom was dirty, and when we asked for it to be cleaned, they said it had been clean when the previous guest checked out. Our bedsheet was torn and yellowish. The TV also wasn't working, and it took them about an hour to fix the connection.

We went for one of my best friend's wedding and really liked the staff service and food quality. The chai was especially good, and they brought it four times a day. The rooms were spacious, though the washroom was just okay. It's a good hotel near tatanagar railway station. We did get disturbed a little by the service man coming around for chai, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so it wasn't quite perfect.

The attached restaurant serves good food in generous portions, and the rooms are spacious and good quality. Staff were well behaved, and there's covered, safe parking for vehicles. For what they offer, the price is affordable. The only drawback is there's no geyser or hot water.
