OYO 19518 Spc & Span

The room and food were good, but getting to the room by those stairs felt suffocating. Even as a Wizard OYO member, we weren't given a lift. The washroom window faced the building opposite and couldn't be shut because bamboo had been tied to it for construction, so we had to cover it with clothes for some privacy. There's a photo attached. And then the receptionist grabbed my husband's phone to leave a 5-star rating on OYO. That's when we figured out how they got Wizard membership.

I had booked one night for August 21 through Agoda and paid Rs.884. At the hotel, the manager denied the booking, saying I'd booked at half the rate he was charging, and wanted another Rs.700 from me to let me stay. I called OYO support, but instead of sorting it out, they told me to make a new booking with them for Rs.832. Only after that, they said, would they cancel the reservation.

The room was dirty and smelled bad, and the linens hadn't been washed. When I asked reception to change the sheets and blanket, they refused and said they'd been cleaned that morning. The advertised basics weren't there either: no Wi-Fi, and the TV had no signal. There's no hotel parking, and the place is in a very cramped area. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The bathroom had several problems: a hole in its door, a broken jet nozzle with no holder beside the toilet, and a commode seat cover that had come off. The room was much smaller than the photos suggested, too. Its door latch didn't lock the door, and even using the barrel bolt from inside left the door bumping around. Not worth it.
