OYO Flagship 29189 Maurya Hotel & Garden

The staff were generally helpful, and finding food was easy because there are several restaurants nearby. The location is very convenient, close to both the railway station and bus stand. My wife and I have stayed here over several years, most recently from 7h to 11th December 2024, but room 105 was in poor shape. The room itself was average, the bathroom door wouldn’t close properly, and the flush didn’t work. It was repaired the next day, so until then we had to use a bucket to flush. Even after repair, the flush tank filled very slowly. The hotel badly needs renovation, perhaps held back by a shortage of funds.

We arrived late at night, and the staff helped us arrange food. The room was pretty good and clean, with the AC and TV working well, and the price was reasonable. The bathroom taps were loose, though, and the hotel is off the main rood and seems to be under construction or damaged. Otherwise, things were in good condition.

The room was in good condition, and the staff behaved nicely. It was a fine stay.

After a 16 hour journey, we spent the first hour going from room to room, then another hour cleaning the room ourselves. Our check-in was at 12 noon, but even though we arrived at 5 pm, they still hadn’t prepared it. We had booked 4 days earlier, so I don’t know why the manager hadn’t picked a room already, or why it may have been changed at the last minute. The rooms weren’t what the pictures showed. Dust covered the floor, furniture, and kitchen slabs, the washrooms weren’t clean, and the bedsheets and covers hadn’t been changed after the last guests. The almirah had garbage in it, including a tuft of hair. The balcony doors couldn’t be opened for cross ventilation because the balconies were full of pigeons, nests, and their beets, and smelled awful. There was only one cleaning person, and he only did each task after we called him back to ask, wiping the table, then leaving, cleaning the washroom, then leaving, changing the sheets, then leaving. He didn’t do the work properly, and we spent 3-4 hours arranging things. There are no shops nearby, and the hotel is too far inside, with many puddles to cross to get there. The worst experience ever. I wouldn’t suggest anyone stay here.
