Ratan Vilas, Jodhpur

My parents had a memorable stay at Ratan Vilas in Jodhpur, and the property exceeded our expectations. Its heritage feel is authentic and serene, and everything is beautifully kept. The staff made a real difference, showing genuine warmth and attention to detail while being thoughtful without intruding. Every meal was flavorful and carefully prepared. The whole visit felt personal, comfortable and luxurious. It’s a rare combination of elegance and heartfelt hospitality, and I'd recommend Ratan Vilas to anyone visiting Jodhpur.

We really enjoyed dinner here. Eating outside in the lovely setting, with excellent food and attentive service, was a highlight. A musician was playing too, which added to the atmosphere and made the evening memorable. The heritage home has plenty of character and charm, with a peaceful outdoor area. Our room was large, and the bedding made for a comfortable night's sleep. The location is outside the Old Town, so you'll need transport for sightseeing, though a Tuk Tuk costs under 100INR. A lovely place to stay and dine.

I've stayed in hotels around Australia and overseas, and this is probably the best one I've experienced. It's a small place with an unusual layout, but I found it really relaxing. The old-world character and the service go together well. Staff were exceptional, and little things like fresh fruit or cookies left in the room were a nice touch. Highly recommend.

The hotel is very nice and the service pleasant, but we had two sleepless nights, so I can't give it five stars. We had three rooms for two nights, and a dog barked all night both nights near rooms 106 and 109. I definitely wouldn't sleep in room 106 again. We complained, but nothing changed after the first night. At the end of our stay, management kindly removed food from our bill, which we appreciated. They should work with the dog's owner so guests can enjoy the full beauty and benefits of the property.
