The Hosteller Bijolai Palace, Jodhpur

The housekeeping team cleaned our room once or twice a day when it got messy, which was a real help with the children along. I was there with my family at hostler Bijolai Place two days ago. It's a beautiful property, and the views are even better. The rooms are set up very nicely, and cleanliness and hygiene were very good. Special thanks to Kuldeep Singh and the housekeeping team.

What stood out most was the staff's service. Mr. Om Singh and Mr. Paramveer promptly handled my food and room changes and arranged transport when I asked. The food was premium quality, too. As a woman travelling solo, I felt this palace property, owned and managed by the Royal Family of Jodhpur, was a lovely place to stay. It's a little outside the city, but the property can arrange cabs and autos, so getting around was easy. There are huge colonial era gardens in front and a lake behind the palace, with premium tents available by the lake. I'd definitely recommend visiting this royal oasis in Jodhpur.

It's a beautiful place by the lake, and the rooms were neat and clean. The food, though, was extremely expensive, like staying at Taj. A cup of tea and bread toast was about Rs 350, so we preferred going out to eat, usually near the Ghanta ghar market. The receptionist was polite, but I had to ask them for water every time. If you want a palace-like stay, this could suit you. It doesn't have a hostel vibe, though. Someone who likes solitude might enjoy it, but if you're after a hostel atmosphere, I'd pick the other property near the Ghanta ghar.

I booked two days and was excited for my first stay with Hosteller, but I regret coming here. There's no network, the wifi doesn't work either, and I couldn't work yesterday. I complained but got no response. There's no customer care number for a phone conversation. I emailed them, and they only generated tickets without getting back to me. It's so far from the city that ola/uber doesn't work here, and the restaurant is very expensive, 120 rupees just for tea. Don't come unless you want to spend your time alone. This isn't work friendly, negative rating for a workstation stay.
