OYO 37146 G P Residency

I stayed for four nights with a colleague for a work assignment. I’d checked the usual reviews and photos first and thought it looked suitable. The actual hotel was nothing like the pictures on Google or Goibibo. For what it offers compared with other places, it felt like an overpriced lodge that should cost no more than ₹500, not the roughly ₹1.5k charged now. There were cockroaches in the room, and the bathrooms were clogged. Bottled water cost extra. Breakfast was included in my booking, but they bought it from a cheap nearby shop, and it probably wasn’t worth more than ₹20. They can switch off the room AC from reception. People smoked in the corridor, where ashtrays were provided. If you want hot water, you have to call reception and get it in a bucket, since there’s no heater in the room. Good luck if you still book after reading all that.

The rooms weren’t well maintained, and the beds were in poor condition. The reception guy even told me not to book there again after I asked him to honor my OYO booking and let me check in. They refused check-in for my OYO booking and demanded extra money. If you’ve booked through OYO or another platform, don’t pay extra. Contact that platform’s customer care and they should help with a solution. I sincerely recommend avoiding this place.

The worst part was a big rat coming out of the AC and disturbing us all night. I’ll post a video or photo, please check it. The room and bedsheet both smelled a lot, and they switched off the AC early in the morning without telling us. Worst room experience so far.

I paid through the OYO app, but at reception they asked me for almost three times that amount. They also misled me by saying I wouldn’t get my money back if I cancelled the booking. Their dealings with online booking apps aren’t clear, and it felt like they were cheating customers.
