For a single room in Kakanad, this seems like the best option to me. I checked the other hostels too, and for the same price they weren't as clean or as well equipped.

The price is reasonable, and the caretaker really does look after the place. There's RO water, but the Wi-Fi was slow. Like the nearby hostels, it doesn't have AC, a washing machine, or a heater. Before paying an advance, check the bed, pillows, light, and clothes hangers, since some guests may not be happy with them.

The hostel is partly furnished and kept in good condition, but there's no lift. Power cuts happen often, which is a nightmare. I wouldn't recommend it for people working night shifts.

The washroom could be cleaner, but for what you pay, the stay is quite good. The staff and the stay itself were good.
