The room was dirty, the curtains looked like they hadn’t been washed in a long time, there wasn’t proper ventilation, and it smelled. Dirty pillows and cobwebs added to the problem. There was no room service for food or anything, so I didn’t have a good experience at this homestay. Some things did help: I was allowed to check in 3 hours early, the host was available by phone for other help, and there’s a good amount of space in front of the property. He also gave me the contact for a good auto person for sightseeing.

The rooms and bathrooms were kept very clean, and it worked well for a family stay. Just speak with the owner ahead of time about breakfast and the fire camp, since both cost extra.

There was no hot water, and the service wasn't good. The fire camp wasn't free either, we had to pay 500 for it.

The host was available around the clock and went out of his way to make us comfortable, though the staff service could use improvement. The place is right in Kalpetta city, and it's one of the best places I've stayed. If you're visiting Wayanad in Kerala, it's well worth considering.

From the balcony we could see a tea estate, and the early morning views were amazing. The homestay is in Kalpetta city, and the owner was friendly. We stayed over New Year's Eve in a clean, modern room laid out on two levels with two beds. It was comfortable for four; there were five of us, but they provided an extra bed and blanket. Please help keep beautiful Wayanadu tidy and avoid polluting it, for the animals and future visitors too.
