We chose this place for its affordable price and advertised amenities, and travelled a long way to get there. But the price they asked us to pay was higher than the one on the website, and they blamed OYO for the inconvenience. We were offered an AC room at that price, but weren’t given one. The website ad and pictures of the amenities are just there to attract people to this tourist home. It was utterly fake.

The location worked well for us: Chottanikkara temple is within walking distance, there’s plenty of parking, card payments are accepted, and there’s a good vegetarian restaurant nearby. The North Indian manager and room boy were friendly and understood Malayalam too. The elevator was a relief with our room on the second floor, though it fits only three people. We booked an AC dual bed room directly, not through OYO, for four of us as a family. It cost Rs. 1600, with Rs. 100 refundable, and the room was big enough. The pictures on OYO aren’t accurate, so don’t arrive with high hopes like we did. The sheets and pillow covers had stains. When we told the room boy, he brought fresh pillow covers. The AC blower valve didn’t open properly, so the air blew downwards. He said it would cool quickly and not to worry. We saw a cockroach crawl out of the AC vent and back in, apparently chilling, so we left it alone and didn’t tell him. The TV wasn’t working right either, and it took the room boy a long time to fix it. The bathroom could be improved. They didn’t provide soap or drinking water, but we’d already bought those from a shop. The stay was good overall, though there are plenty of things they could improve. Best wishes.

It was almost midnight and we had no other options, so we were forced to take a room at their own manipulated rates, without a bill. They denied our booking made through oyo, saying we had booked too late.
