Ashvem Beach Resort by OYO Rooms

The top rooms with sit-out balconies are the ones to choose for a sea view. Rooms are large, bathrooms clean, and staff very helpful. The manager is young and keen to make guests comfortable. Breakfast is included and was good. It's just across the road from the beach, where the hotels offer nice massages and their restaurants serve food. The place is newly set up and very well managed.

Big, comfortable rooms with good beds and enough pillows. The air conditioning and fans kept the room cool, sometimes even cold. It's an easy walk to the beach and close to the road. A couple of drawbacks: WiFi is very limited, and despite the room size there's nowhere to set down bags and get at your things. The towels were clean but had stains that wouldn't come out, apparently from the red road sand. Still, a great place to stay.

The rooms were well managed, and the staff were courteous and went out of their way to help. There were flies, and the rainy season may not be the best time to visit. The property doesn't have its own kitchen, which can be a drawback, though nearby shops serve decent food. Getting around is the main downside: the location makes travel difficult in bad weather or at odd hours. Otherwise, I'd recommend it for an elegant holiday away from the city rush.

The buffet breakfast was a lovely start to the morning, and the food served here was excellent. The hotel has a great atmosphere, with Ashwem beach directly in front and the waves audible from the balcony. It's about 20km from Calangute beach, and a good base for exploring North Goa by rented bike, car, or taxi. Taxi drivers were rude and charged a lot, while scooters cost around 300-400. The staff were nice too. A very good stay at Oyo Townhouse.
