Sri Hari Residency

The rooms, generally around 24 or 30, are on the right side of famous kumarakottam in the town of kanchipuram. The ambience is good and the linen is okay, but dangling wires and sanitary fittings can hurt the hotel's reputation. There's no attached restaurant, so no complimentary breakfast; parking is a few yards to the right of the lodge. The room service boys and reception clerk were soft-spoken and helpful. I think the clerk's name was jagadeesh. Their approach to customers kept me from taking stars off for the small room issues. It's centrally located and convenient for a two or three day stay, so I recommend it.

Vasantha and the rest of the staff were supportive and humble. The hotel is very neat and clean, and all the important temples are within walking distance. I had a very nice stay at Sri Hari and look forward to visiting Kanchi again and staying in the same room ☺️

For more than 10 years, we've stayed here each year for family functions, usually booking 4-5 rooms. The rooms are small but good, and the bathrooms are okay. It's close to many temples. There's no food service or in-house restaurant, but nearby food shops are good and affordable. Autos wait in front of the hotel, though their fares are a bit high.

We've been returning to Sri Hari Residency for nearly 10 years whenever we visit Kanchipuram. It's basic and budget-friendly, without luxury, but works well for families. Its central location makes the major temples easy to reach, and A2B and Nithya restaurants are within 500 meters. Worth the price.
