The AC worked well, water was available, and the 10-inch mattress was fairly comfortable. As a last-minute place to stay, it covered the basics, though expectations should be low. Cliff Floatel seems to be a renovated residential house, with two floors and 10 rooms, five on each floor. It has potential from its structure and location, but poor maintenance and loose management are holding it back. Payyambalam Beach is about 1 km away, so despite the seashore claim, it's not really a walk with family. When we checked in around 11 AM, one person was managing the property alongside two cleaning staff. There was no proper front desk or dedicated hotel staff, and things felt stretched and informal. We had booked for three, but no extra bed was available. They suggested one person sleep on the floor with blankets, which wasn't acceptable when I was travelling with my father-in-law and 6-year-old child. It was peak season and there was nowhere else available, so we bought a futon ourselves. There was no hot water. The person managing the place kindly let us use his induction stove to heat water for my child, which we appreciated. The property seems to have seen better days. It might work if you need a no-frills stay and can manage with very little service; better upkeep and clearer management would make a real difference.

We had a very bad experience with the hotel management and OYO team. We booked an AC room through OYO, but the person at the property asked us to pay extra for it. We called OYO and didn't get a proper answer. The hotel should be removed from the OYO site.

The property was good and we had a nice stay. Staff were very friendly even with the language barrier. They could put more work into maintenance.

We were two families with kids and got stranded in the confusion between Oyo and the hotel. Just minutes before check-in, after I'd booked through Oyo, I was asked to pay Rs 1000.00 extra per room. I told the hotel I had rent confirmation from Oyo, and the person said they'd already informed Oyo before abruptly ending the call. After many attempts through its phone system, Oyo confirmed there had been no such change. Then, less than an hour before we arrived, Oyo asked me to move to another property. It took two hours to get the booking changed. This was the first time I've had a hotel ask for more money after a confirmed booking. I don't understand why a reputable company like Oyo takes no action and gives in to unreasonable hotel demands instead of listening to its guests.

They said they had no connection with Oyo. I arrived at 11 pm and there was nobody at reception, just a phone number. I called more than three times; they answered and said they wouldn't accept the Oyo booking. They wanted more than the price we'd booked at. Never stay there.
