I couldn’t sleep because tile cutting was going on all day, and the noise was too much. The Indian-style toilet room was tiny, and the old bed was broken and made too much noise, so if you’re going with your gf, don’t go 😀. I stayed two days and nobody came to clean. The bedsheet was filthy, and even when I asked, they didn’t change it. The towel was dirty too, and the food was very costly. One normal tea was 25rs. The room itself was very bad. The receptionist told me not to book through Oyo and said I could get the same room directly for 800 instead of the 1200 I’d booked it for. They asked me to show the booking at checkout, then the receptionist gave a 5 star rating on the app himself. So don’t trust the rating.

The receptionist was rude, and they asked me for more money than the online price. I had a bad experience, so I suggest avoiding online hotel bookings in Kanpur. Near the station or ghantaghar there are plenty of hotels. Go check a few in person, then choose one that suits you. Hope this helps.

I booked through Oyo and called to ask about checking in early. They said there’d be an extra charge, which I’d have to pay in cash. When I agreed, they then said the Oyo payment also had to be made in cash and that they wouldn’t accept the payment I’d made in the app. Highly unrecommended.
