If you’re planning a romantic meet-up at Kanan Continental, be aware that they often want guests to meet in the restaurant instead of the room. That can be inconvenient, so another hotel may make for a smoother, more comfortable meet-up.

The main road location is a big plus, and it’s easy to get to. It’s a budget hotel, so expect the facilities that come with that category. The food is OK and service is good. Their guards handle parking well, too. Seems suitable for staying, parties, and family functions.

For what it costs, the service should be better. The hotel is understaffed, room service is poor, and the lift doesn’t work about half the time. Rooms are below standard as well. The manager has a lot of attitude when it comes to resolving problems and dealing with customers. Book at your own risk.

I went to an engagement ceremony here, with more than 100 guests. The venue was quite good for a gathering that size, and service was good. The ambience was only just above average, while the food was ordinary. It can feel suffocating with that many people in the basement. The photos were taken before the event began.

The room was decent and everything worked. Parking for cars is available, and the hotel is on the main road. Breakfast was very oily and hard to digest. It’s an okay place to stay in Kanpur, neither bad nor amazing.
