Hotel Samudra

Getting around was easy from Hotel Samundra. The Kanyakumari Temple and Vivekananda Rock Memorial ferry point are only about 100-200 meters away, with sea views, shops, and plenty of places to eat nearby. The staff were consistently polite and helpful, and the clean, well-kept property felt safe and welcoming. The rooms were pleasant, though the bathroom was cramped enough to make moving around or bathing comfortably difficult, especially for taller or larger guests. Aside from that, I found the hospitality good and the price reasonable. A better bathroom would make it a five-star stay. Recommended for a short visit or temple trip.

The ocean and glass bridge view from our room and balcony was a real highlight. Waking up to the waves felt peaceful and memorable. Hotel Samudra is also handy for sightseeing, with the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Thiruvalluvar Statue, and sunrise point a short walk away, plus markets and eateries close by. Our room was clean, spacious, and maintained well, with the essentials, and check-in was quick. The staff were warm and helpful from arrival, including with travel arrangements and local tips. Room service came promptly, and we enjoyed the in-house restaurant food, especially the fresh seafood. It felt like good value for the comfort and genuine hospitality. I'd recommend it for solo trips, couples, or families, and hope to stay again next time I'm in Kanyakumari.

You can catch the sunrise from the rooftop, and with the right room there's a view of the sea and Vivekananda Rock. Hotel Samudra sits conveniently in the middle of Sannidhi Street, within walking distance of Bhagavati Amman Temple ( Kanyakumari Amman) and the Boat house ( Poompuhar Ferry Service). There's ample car parking opposite the hotel, and I found it good value for money.

The location and views are the main reasons to stay at Hotel Samudhra. The temple, Vivekananda Rock, and beaches are close, so getting around for sightseeing is easy. The rooms are decent, though not luxurious. Ours had a bad smell in the bathroom, but staff cleaned it when we asked; the staff otherwise seemed average. Across the road there's a pure vegetarian restaurant with good food, though it's crowded and expensive. Parking is opposite the hotel, but pulling out onto the main road can be tricky. Fine for temple visits and sightseeing if location matters most.
