The rooms are simple, clean, and comfortable enough for a night's rest, with AC and non-AC options for different budgets. Hotel Sugam is a practical base in Karaikudi, especially if you're using the bus stand nearby to visit the Chettinad mansions. Parking is adequate for keeping a car off the main road. The decor feels dated, and this is more of a functional stop than a luxury stay. For meals, there's a well-regarded vegetarian restaurant right across the street, handy for breakfast or dinner.

The room was really good and the service was good too. You can stay here, though they charged 20 rupees for water instead of providing it.

The owner is a very good guy, and parking is good too. It's close to all the temples, and we had no issues with the services.

There's plenty of parking and the rooms are a decent size, but the old look and lack of upkeep waste those positives. The location is good, though the hotel itself is very old, with no proper maintenance or cleanliness and old cots and mattresses. A renovation with modern amenities would make it a great place to stay.
