Hotel The White Castle

The warm, friendly way Manager Amit Chauhan treated us made our stay especially nice. He was helpful to everyone and always had a bright smile. The hotel also serves very good meals, and its position beside the river comes with wonderful mountain and town views. Thank you for the lovely hospitality.

Mohammed Hassan and Ahmed Husain made our one-night stop in Kargil memorable, and we left wishing we could stay longer. The rooms were cozy, the views were stunning, and the hospitality was the kind that makes you want to come back. We will.

They kindly arranged an early breakfast when a strike in Kargil meant everyone was advised to leave early. Just check the washroom when you arrive, as ours had not been cleaned properly. The hotel is vegetarian, so we had to go out for non-veg dinner. There were other guests staying, which made things okay for us. Our room was spacious, with clean linen and a good view. There is a terrace where you can sit with chai away from the chaos. The hotel is outside town, in a run-down but safe location. I guess nowhere in Kargil is really well located, and there isn't much to see in town. The hotels across from the river might be better. It's a vegetarian hotel.

The river-view location was awesome, with a big balcony. Room was excellent, the food was double excellent, and room service was good. We stayed one night, on 18 May 26, and it was superb.
