The cottage was old and dingy, with worn interiors and clear signs of poor maintenance. The vegetation outside was so overgrown it looked untouched for months, and it drew insects right near the sleeping area. We were traveling with family and hoped for some warmth and basic courtesy, but the staff made us feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived. They were dismissive and indifferent, and brushed off basic questions. The extra mattress and sheets we’d requested in advance were visibly dirty and wrinkled. When we politely asked for clean ones, a staff member named Sujaat answered sarcastically and insultingly, “Itne paise mein itna hi milega yahaan.” We stayed one night, and that was one night too many. This was an appalling experience, and I’d warn families against choosing the resort. If comfort, cleanliness, and even basic respectful service matter to you, look elsewhere.

The quiet setting and the genuine warmth of the people made our stay at Rangyul Resort memorable. Rooms are spacious, clean, and well maintained, with the basic amenities you need and traditional touches that feel warm and homely. The resort sits among the mountains, with beautiful views all around, and it was a relaxing stop after a long drive through Ladakh. The staff were very polite, attentive, and ready to help with a smile. We enjoyed freshly prepared restaurant food, including local flavors and Indian dishes, and sitting in the dining area with the views was a treat. A wonderful Kargil hospitality experience, and a great place for families, groups, or solo travelers.

Ali, our host, helped make everything smooth and comfortable with his friendly manner, warm hospitality, and useful suggestions. We had a comfortable stay at Kargil Rangyul Resort, in a peaceful yet well-connected part of Kargil, a convenient stop during our Ladakh journey. The rooms were clean and spacious, with stunning mountain views. The North Indian meals were a highlight, freshly cooked, flavorful, and comforting after long days of travel. The dining area was cozy, and the food was served with care. There’s ample parking and good connectivity too. A welcoming choice whether you’re passing through or staying longer.

After long rides through the rugged mountains, the peaceful setting and breathtaking landscapes were a welcome break. I stayed here during my Ladakh ride, and the location made the journey more memorable. The room was cozy, clean, and well maintained, with the comfort I needed.

It’s in a very peaceful spot near the end of Kargil city, and the service was very good. The rooms were very clean, with electric bed warmers and spacious bathrooms. The food was awesome.
