Hotel Gian Residency

The morning chai and aaloo parantha were good, but dinner from the restaurant really wasn't worth eating. The rest of the stay was rough: the front desk man handling check-in was extremely rude and unpleasant to talk to. The rooms smelled strongly of seepage and had poor ventilation. I checked three more rooms and they all had the same smell. The linen was dirty and stained, the TV and cable didn't work, and the fan knocked loudly enough that I couldn't sleep. The spring mattress was uncomfortable too, with springs coming out.

I eventually found a better deal through go ibibo and was happy with that stay, but Hotel Gain Residency and Oyo were both useless in sorting this out. I'd booked through Oyo a week ahead at a low price and had been asked several times to confirm the reservation. When I got there, the hotel refused to give me a room because the current rate was three times what I'd booked. It was exam time and hotels were packed, and they tried to take advantage of that by asking for crazy prices. Oyo couldn't offer a solution either. The staff and owner were pathetic and kept harassing me for money.

The room had a water-heating kettle, and the restaurant service was quick, but room service took a long time. There was no Wi-Fi or lift, and the bath towels were poor. The rooms are nice but small, so three people would struggle to stay in one. The extra bed was really bad, and an extra person didn't get breakfast despite the 500 rupee charge.

It's an average place with basic amenities on main Railway station road. We booked the CP plan, which included breakfast, but they said they couldn't even serve tea before 8 because no kitchen staff were available.
