Purnima Guest House Kasol

The rooms are small and everything felt badly managed. We couldn't get dinner because the chef wasn't available, then we were told there were no ingredients, so we had to walk out to find food. The complimentary breakfast we'd been promised wasn't provided either. Instead, we had to order, and it took a long time to prepare. The room phone didn't work, and nobody answered our calls promptly. A really awful stay. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The staff were helpful, and there was parking for guests arriving by car, plus a place for drivers to stay. We had a great stay near the Parvati riverside. Our room was clean and roomy, and I especially liked the duplex, with a river view from one balcony and mountains from the other. Really lovely views.

The location is handy for Kasol market and popular cafés, and the balcony has decent mountain views. But the café that was recently built blocks the promised Parvati River view. The rooms are poorly kept, and the bathrooms smell bad. There isn't a lift, heater, or AC, and it took nearly 18 hours to get a basic electric kettle. Service was slow, probably because there weren't many staff. Breakfast was included, but they couldn't provide it because of a gas shortage, which they hadn't told us about beforehand. Apart from the location, the stay was disappointing and needs a lot of improvement.

The balcony view of the river was mesmerizing, and the staff were very cooperative. The hotel is right in the city market and has a river view. They also let us check out late without an extra charge. I'd gladly return and recommend it.
