Hotel Maharaja Inn

The station drop-off they promised when we booked was refused, seemingly in response to this review. Staff also enter rooms without permission, look through personal belongings, and are rude if you tell them not to come in. Their behavior toward women was unacceptable even when the hotel was fully occupied. With these safety concerns, I wouldn’t consider this place suitable for women or families. Both the service and the stay were very bad.

I stayed in C8 and C9 on the third floor from December 26 to December 28, 2024, and it was a major letdown. The website and Google photos were misleading and didn’t match the actual rooms, doors, or bathrooms. Although the hotel claims to be 3-star, it didn’t meet basic standards. There was dirt under the beds, small cockroaches on the table, bed, and telephone, and some lights didn’t work. The rooms were damp, with broken wooden window frames letting cold air in. There were no room heaters, and they charged Rs. 300/- per heater in winter. Hot water took at least two buckets of water to come through. Basic items like a shaving kit, dental kit, and comb were missing too. I can’t recommend it to anyone seeking comfort, cleanliness, or good service. It was far below expectations, a waste of money, and a significant letdown.

The food was awesome, and the staff were very good. Everything was perfect.

The morning hot water was the biggest problem, just when it was needed most. The room also felt uncomfortable because damp walls gave it a musty smell. Hotel Stay Maharaja Inn is quite old and poorly maintained, with basic amenities missing. I wouldn’t recommend staying there unless they make serious improvements.
