Hotel Narayan

The hotel is down a small, congested Gali, so auto or taxi can't reach it. Inside, the washroom was tiny and unhygienic, the charging points and switchboards didn't work, and the bedsheets, blankets, and pillow covers were dirty. When I asked, staff claimed they changed them often. The rooms were poorly maintained and nothing like the pictures on booking sites such as Goibibo and ixigo. It felt like a dhramshala, not a hotel, and the staff lacked basic manners. A terrible experience, and I wouldn't recommend spending your hard-earned money here. The owner's reply was gruesome too.

The location is the best part, right by the bus stand with nearby amenities within walking distance. Service staff were kind and courteous. We booked a triple bed room for two days, though cleaning was slow because the cleaning staff seemed too few. Checkouts are at noon and rooms are cleaned after that, so don't expect a clean room before 1 pm. Avoid early check-in, or you may wait or get an uncleaned room. There's a seepage problem in almost all rooms on the top floor, one of three floors above ground. We were first assigned room 405 there, but got room 104 after requesting a move, depending on availability. Another major issue is the ventilator: it has no glass pane, so outside noise comes straight into the room and can make sleeping difficult. That's a design issue in all the rooms.

The hotel sits inside a street that autos can't enter, and no facilities were provided. The room was dirty and nothing like the pictures. On the phone, they said early check-in was possible and confirmed in writing that there'd be no extra charge. At checkout, they demanded payment for an extra day, spoke rudely, and the staff had no manners. This was a very bad experience. Don't book here.

The reception was especially lovely. He came outside to help me pick up my luggage, and was a very nice person. An amazing experience.
