The owner invited us to dinner and even took us along to an Indian wedding, which was an exceptional experience. We also really liked the complimentary hot lemon and ginger tea. They'd bring it whenever we asked, at any time of day. Our room was spacious, clean, and well maintained. Hot water was provided safely, and we enjoyed sitting on the veranda in front of the room, looking over the green courtyard. Check-in was quick and easy, though we had to phone staff to reach them since they might not always be on site. The hotel sits on the main road between the Western and Eastern temple groups. Most of the time it was quiet, with no road noise. There was a nearby wedding venue, though, and a wedding made the hotel really noisy on three of our five nights. A large pilgrimage group arriving at 4:30 am also disturbed the quiet.

The courtyard is beautifully designed, with plants that are clearly lovingly cared for, and the staff were very friendly. We got a warm welcome, and the price was negotiable. They invited us to dinner, where we learned a lot about Indian culture and tradition. We chose the hotel for its good location and were puzzled by the middling reviews. Our room and bathroom were very clean, and we were given two thick blankets for the cold nights. We felt very comfortable here.

Hotel zen has a lovely garden and very beautiful rooms with VIP facilities. The room was cheap and comfortable.

The garden was full of colourful flowers, and the ambience was nice. My husband, our 7 year old son, and I stayed for 3 nights and had a nice experience. The location was superb, within walking distance of Western Ghat temple. Our room was clean and spacious, with an attached balcony, an easy chair, and a garden view where we could relax. Room service was excellent, and the staff were very helpful.
