MPT Payal

It’s a huge, old-style property, with gardens, a pool, and places to play or exercise. From the room, we could see and hear different birds and playful langurs. The rooms and service were fabulous, and MP Tourism made the vacation memorable. They don’t make hotels like this anymore, so enjoy it while you can. I hope they’re around for years to come, and wish them the best.

The staff were fantastic, especially Amrita and Shivam. They were so courteous and the service was excellent. We also really liked the food. After eating out a few times, we decided to have the rest of our meals at the hotel. The restaurant is worth considering even if you’re not staying there, the dishes were tasty and well prepared. The location is five stars, close to the museum, light and sound show, and western corridor. The property is old and not as well maintained as it could be, though the rooms are spacious and kept well. A few small things could have been better, but it was a good stay, and I’d definitely stay again if I visit Khajuraho.

The resort is large and could be splendid if it were maintained well, but its current condition is really terrible. Dampness covers the hotel walls, with green moss in places, and there’s an odd smell in the rooms. The bathroom had brown stains, a broken tray, and a rusted bin. The towels smelled and need replacing right away. Dinner on the 18th Feb was very poor: the paneer was so hard it needed a hammer to break into pieces. Dinner on the 19th Feb and breakfast on both days were good.

The hospitality made the stay for me. The staff were warm and welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. My room was clean and neat, and I really enjoyed the restaurant food, every bite was great. I had an excellent experience at MPT Payal Khajuraho and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Khajuraho.
