The staff were so helpful, professional, friendly, and thoughtful that I’d choose this place over a 3 or 4 star hotel. I’d absolutely stay again and recommend it. We tried two rooms, a standard one and a superior one with a balcony, and both were excellent: spacious, airy, clean, and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was good, and the AC worked really well. The superior room also had a fridge. Amenities are basic for a 2 star, but the central spot is very quiet and close to the beach, town centre, restaurants, bars, and shops, all an easy walk away. Perfect for the Biennale.

The location is perfect, and the rooms were clean and well kept. The manager and staff were polite and friendly, and I felt very safe travelling alone as a woman. Coriander veg restaurant is handy for a simple meal when you’re tired and other restaurants are packed. I stayed three nights and four days in February with breakfast included. Some mornings it was just cut fruit, juice, toast, omelette, and a hot drink; on most days there was also something like vada or idli, depending on the day. I booked through Agoda, which listed a city view and basic amenities. I was tired at check-in and didn’t ask to change rooms, but there was no view, and things like tissues and an iron weren’t there. I’d suggest checking the room before settling in.

The location is excellent, and the food and service at the restaurant next door were lovely. Annie asked me to leave a good review when I checked out, so I’ll be honest. She was welcoming and let me check in early, even though I’d been ready to leave my luggage and come back later. The room was extremely basic, though. Only one of three power outlets worked, and the fan control didn’t. I told a man about it, but after three nights it was still the same. The room wasn’t soundproof, and on the first night noisy guests sounded as if they were right outside my door. The balcony wasn’t clean, the view was disappointing, and I didn’t use it. It felt on par with a private room in a backpackers hostel. Annie asked on the first morning whether I wanted housekeeping, and I said the next day would be fine and daily cleaning wasn’t needed. When I returned late the following afternoon, the room still hadn’t been cleaned, so I had to ask for a fresh towel and toilet paper. I can’t say I’d return. There are many better accommodation options.

If you’re looking for a calm, budget-friendly base for Fort Kochi’s cultural and historic sights, Fort Kochi Beach Inn is a practical choice. The rooms are simple, clean, and adequate for a short stay, with basic amenities. Staff are generally polite and helpful with local information, travel guidance, and everyday needs, and the homely feel suits people who prefer a quiet stay to a crowded hotel. It isn’t a luxury property, but it offers good value for the location. Fort Kochi Beach, the Chinese fishing nets, St. Francis Church, and other main attractions are very close and easy to reach on foot, making sightseeing convenient. It works well for solo travellers, couples, and backpackers who care most about location, affordability, and easy access to heritage spots rather than premium facilities.

We had a good three-day stay at this underrated place in Fort Kochi. Kudos to the people managing it. There’s also a dedicated hotel for guests to have breakfast. Highly recommended.
