Balakrishnan, the caretaker, was really helpful. Hotel Malabar plaza lodge is right by Ernakulam railway station, with restaurant options nearby. The rooms are okay, and it works as a transit lodge for a very short stay. There’s no parking.

It’s close to the railway station and could be a good place to stay, but the room didn’t meet expectations. Parking is the main drawback. There isn’t space for even one car.

The one thing this place has going for it is how close it is to the town railway station. I booked a classic 2X room and ended up in a tiny, matchbox-sized room that wasn’t very clean. The TV had no useful channels, the Wi-Fi was slow, and the receptionist was unfriendly. My worst OYO experience.

Warning, they don’t allow foreigners or couples. There was no information about this when we booked. If you’re not a single Indian man, you’re not welcome.

A very good room, with good staff and good cleaning. The location in this area was especially fantastic.
