The host was a big help, knew the area well, and could arrange an auto when called. Shops for bike rental, repairs, groceries, and snacks are close by. Rooms are kept simple, which avoids clutter, and the linens and pillows were clean and good quality. There's a rooftop where you can hang wet clothes, plus a small open kitchen with a few essentials. Food is available on request, though I chose to eat out while travelling. A decent place, and I had a good stay.

The owner was incredibly useful, even finding a tailor, arranging a bike and a 2am airport taxi, and pointing us to the best chips shop. We stayed three nights in two private rooms, and the staff, food, cleanliness, quiet, and WiFi were all great. The windows didn't seal completely, though, so mosquitoes and smoke from outdoor rubbish fires got into the room.

You can get a traditional Kerala breakfast here. We found it a superb family place, and the owner was a gentleman who took excellent care of us and knew Kochin well. I'd gladly return.

Naresh was there for whatever we needed during the day, and even went out of his way after hours. The hostel offers four, six, and eight person shared rooms. There are two bathrooms, and they had mosquitoes, though Naresh provides bug spray. From what the other guests told us, it's probably one of the best places to stay in Fort kochi. A brilliant hostel with a great person running it.

The owner of the sowparnika hermitage was warm and friendly, and gave us a thorough introduction to Cochin. He'd also painted a depiction of the Mahabharata story on the house. We had a wonderful time staying there.
