It was only one night, but I’ll remember it for a long time. Janti da, his wife, and their lovely staff made us feel so welcome, and the peaceful place they’ve made in Kaziranga is surrounded by nature. We had a barbecue under the stars and a delicious home-cooked dinner. The shower pressure was the best of my whole Northeast trip, and the hot water was hotter than anywhere else I stayed. Thanks, Janti da, for such a memorable visit.

The owner arranged our jeep safari, and that turned out to be a great decision. He spotted animals quickly and lent us binoculars so we could see them clearly. The homestay is close enough to walk to Orchid Park, and the Google Maps location is accurate. Rooms are tidy, hot water is available for winter, and there’s parking. They also serve homemade food. A lovely stay and trip, and I’d definitely recommend it to people who prefer homestays.

Mr Janti was a wonderful host during our two nights here. He took us on the Kaziranga jeep safari and arranged the elephant safari too, both about 15 minutes away. The biodiversity and orchid park is an easy walk. If you like plants and local culture, set aside a day for it and try the Assamese thali. We also got to see a local Bihu dance. Hospitality was great, and the food was good as well. Let Mr Janti know if you like traditional dishes. The rooms were excellent in size and cleanliness.
