OYO 1628 Babul Hotel

Pretim and Kamal were especially helpful and kind throughout our stay. Even after we checked out at noon, they kept our luggage safe until it was time to head to the airport. We really appreciated that. We're from Sri Lanka and had a pleasant stay at Babul Hotel, Kolkata, which felt well worth the price. The food was good, and breakfast was included. I enjoyed the poori with masala gravy, though a few more breakfast choices would be nice. We're very happy with the service and would recommend the hotel to others visiting Kolkata.

The room lights were quite dim, and brighter ones would have made the stay better. Otherwise, the spacious, clean rooms were comfortable and reasonably priced, with AC, a mini fridge, OTG, kettle, TV and Wi-Fi. It's very close to Kolkata Airport. There's a restaurant on site, but I didn't eat there, so I can't comment on the taste, quality or price.

I booked Hotel Babul but was taken to another place called lodge babul, a 7-10 minute walk away. If there were no rooms, they could have just said so and we could have booked another nearby hotel. The other place wasn't good enough for a rating above two stars.

It's near the airport, and the service and rooms were great. Most of the food was good, except the roti was a bit too thick and not chewy enough. Portions were small, but that was okay. A two-bedroom costs around 1200-1300. It was hygienic, though the mirror was in poor condition and the small fridge didn't work. Everything else was great.
