Fabhotel Amar Raj Regency

The staff were awful and really rude, and I’m not coming back. They say you’ll get pizza and Coke if you share the video and show it to them, but they just made excuses when we asked. I didn’t see them give pizza to anyone. Easily one of my worst hotel experiences.

It’s a decent place for a short trip or staycation, with polite and helpful staff. Neha Yadav was especially sweet, calm, and professional at Amar Fab Hotel Raj Inn, Kolkata. She helped with my bags and other things during my stay, which made everything feel much smoother and more comfortable. Thanks for the support, Neha.

I was here for a conference and felt safe in the area as a solo traveller. The corridors smelled of cigarettes, though the rooms themselves were decent. The only things provided were a towel and hand soap.

There’s no parking, so you have to leave your vehicle outside the hotel, and management takes no responsibility for it. I also didn’t see any CCTV cameras outside, which made me feel it wasn’t safe. For a short stay on a very small budget in New Town it might be okay, but I personally wouldn’t consider it safe, and the hospitality and safety felt compromised. The whole floor smelled like a hospital, and the corridors had that same feel. I saw many older women and some younger people who seemed unwell moving around the dining area. The only person who seemed perfectly fine was cleaning the room behind mine. I don’t know why it smelled that way, but the experience was terrible and felt more like staying in a hospital than a hotel. My room was spacious and clean, but the toilet seat was undersized and broken. There was a bucket without a mug, damaged bedsheets, and a dirty pillow, though the pillow was soft. The towel was very old and torn.
