The owner was rude and full of attitude, and the staff didn't seem to care about complaints. They even refused to clean after I showed them the mess. There was hair on the floor, smelly bedsheets, and cockroaches in the room. A lot of things were broken, including a door that didn't work properly. They wouldn't open the gate early in the morning and treated guests like kids, talking as if it were their private house instead of a professional hotel. Please avoid it and look for somewhere cleaner nearby.

The place was old and filthy, with dirty, smelly rooms and toilets. There were insects and cockroaches around, and the blankets and pillows were far too old and dirty. The service was terrible and even the door wasn't fixed properly. Never stay at a hotel like this.

I hope this helps somebody, and I'm sorry to write it. I was staying with my amputee patient, and it was a very bad experience. The rooms were untidy and smelled, and they didn't change the bedsheets daily. I had to ask them five times before anyone came to mop the room. We went two days without electricity, but they charged the full amount. They didn't even have drinking water. Every day at 11 a.m. they asked me for money, as if I would run off with a patient whose leg was amputated. They only care about money and charge far too much. Otherwise, the hotel is 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮.

Hotel Samrat (Esplanade) had a few helpful people and some real problems. The eyeglass-wearing uncle and the young boy were courteous, and free WiFi was useful. The location is convenient, with restaurants and shops within walking distance in the busy Esplanade area. The receptionist, though, was rude and uncooperative: they seemed annoyed when I asked for a towel and dismissed my request to change rooms, making check-in and resolving issues difficult. I stayed for three days across two rooms. Room 101 cost Rs. 1100 per night for a double bed and AC. It had a pleasant street view, enough space for two, a comfortable bed, a small table, and AC that worked well in the hot weather. It was a bit dim, and there was no soap, towel, toothpaste, or handwash. For the price it was decent, though I expected basic toiletries and better cleanliness. Room 4 was Rs. 700 per night for a single bed without AC, and it was awful. It had no window and poor network reception, and felt like a jail cell. The tiny bed seemed as if it might collapse under my weight. The sheets were dirty, the pillow flat and uncomfortable, and there was no table or chair. Without AC it felt like an oven, making it hard to sleep or relax. The slippery toilet was a safety hazard and I worried about falling. I wouldn't pay more than Rs. 400 for that room, and wouldn't recommend it. For a short budget stay, the hotel might be tolerable, but I wouldn't choose it for a longer holiday. Avoid Room 4, bring your own toiletries, and expect a rude receptionist. The area has plenty of food, shopping, and entertainment options. My stay was mediocre at best, with Room 101 decent and Room 4 a disaster; aside from the receptionist, the staff were friendly and helpful. Rating: 2.5/5. The place could become a good budget option with cleaner rooms, more amenities, and better customer service.

The rooms and toilets were very dirty, and drainage pipes run through the rooms. The AC units leaked, and bedcovers weren't changed regularly. When we asked for staff to bring things, they shouted and were extremely rude. There are other hotels for the same price. This was the worst experience, so don't stay here.
