At least one staff member was helpful: when I asked for medicine because I’d lost my voice, he brought it. The room itself felt like a closed box, with a dark window and no view. Breakfast was disappointing too, with no paneer paratha available even as a paid item. Restaurant service was poor and disorganized, and we had to keep asking for cutlery or go get it ourselves.

Hotel O2 made my stay comfortable, and the ambience and service were excellent. Ajit gave me a warm welcome and was polite and professional throughout. We were four passengers given a night’s accommodation by Indigo after our connecting flights took off because the airline staff hadn’t coordinated properly. Mr Shivang from Indigo made sure we were safe at the Kolkata Airport. At check-in, though, the receptionist gave the two male passengers separate rooms and told us, the two female passengers, we’d have to share one. We asked why, since we were two separate people. The receptionist seemed annoyed, then quickly assigned us two rooms. O2, please don’t assume women guests should adjust while men get that basic consideration. Please behave professionally.

I spent two nights in a premium suite and barely slept because of the terrible traffic noise. Glass windows run along three sides of the room, which faces the main road. The room itself was ordinary, with only basic amenities. I wouldn’t recommend rooms 4403 or 4404.
