I contacted customer care several times, but all they said was that the property wasn’t answering their calls and that they’d make sure it wouldn’t happen again. That assurance rang hollow when this seems to have gone on for months or years. OYO’s online booking service failed to protect customers from what I believe is fraudulent behavior, and I’m extremely disappointed with both the hotel management and OYO. My confirmed room had been booked well in advance, but after a long journey the receptionist rudely refused us, saying there was no room. I showed him the live app listing multiple rooms available for immediate booking, and he got more aggressive and told me to come back or reconfirm after 8 p.m. At 8, after a shift change, someone else said a room was available, but I had to come in the morning and pay cash. I called at 9 a.m. to confirm and check in, and after another shift change a third receptionist suddenly said there was no vacancy. This looks like a coordinated way to harass guests, push higher walk-in rates, or reject people after they’ve travelled a long way. Guests coming to Kolkata for work, medical care, or with family shouldn’t have to deal with this kind of cheating and stress. Never book online here, you’ll likely face the same lies and humiliation. If you need to stay nearby, book directly through another platform or choose a different property. Avoid at all costs. Not even one star deserved.
