OYO 1235 Salt Lake Sector 1

I booked through OYO for Rs 1028, and with coupons the total was Rs 1321. When I arrived, two hours late because of traffic, the receptionist refused my check-in, saying the hotel wasn't receiving the full amount. He said OYO was paying them Rs 924 and asked how it could offer a booking at Rs 1028 when the hotel's floor price was Rs 1200. He kept asking me for another Rs 300. I called the OYO helpline and waited 45 minutes. It was already 14:30 pm, even though check-in was at 12:00 pm. OYO opened a complaint, which is still open, and I have a copy of the email. In the end, I paid about Rs 276 extra and got into the room. After letting us stay, the guy asked, "will you give us poor rating as this is Oyo's fault an not us and please do not pay Online". I told him, 'This is not the first time I have booked an OYO'. I wouldn't recommend booking here. They don't understand business etiquette. A hotel working with an MNC should have its policies in order so customers don't get caught in the middle. OYO hotels and business are very good, but a few rotten hotels with a cheap mentality ruin the name.

The staff are helpful, and the facilities are adequate. The rooms are roomy, and you can spot the place from the road. I did see cockroaches crawling on the walls, though, and some bathroom fixtures felt a bit loose.

We arrived around midnight, me and two cousins from Kerala, but the gate was shut and no one opened it at first. The Uber driver spoke to the staff, and then they let us in. Once inside, they said the booking was for two people, even though I had reserved one room for three through the booking site. OYO confirmed that too, but there was a long back-and-forth between their team and the hotel. Eventually OYO found us another place, OYO 19290 Flagship, and it was very good. Don't go to 10140!

A lovely place with good staff. Drinking and smoking are allowed, and they'll bring you an ashtray if you ask. If you're ordering outside food, do it after 11.
