OYO 29931 Alankar Guest House

The food was really good and arrived on time, probably helped by the hotel having its own kitchen. The staff were disciplined, very kind, and ready to help with anything. Rooms were clean and the amenities were just right. It’s the best affordable, hygienic hotel I’ve stayed at. 👌🏻

I stayed for two nights and felt comfortable in the clean room, which had two large windows and all the basic amenities in good condition. The atmosphere was peaceful, away from the busy New Town route: the property is 1.2 km inside from Bishwa Bangla gate. The two young staff members were professional and willing to help whenever we called. Great hospitality. My experience was fantastic, and Alankaar guest house is one of the few OYO hotels that does well across the board.

The rooms were nice and clean, and the staff were humble. There’s a kitchen on every floor, so you can order food there; it was good and had a homely quality. If you’re planning to spend a couple of nights in Kolkata, this is a budget-friendly OYO I’d feel comfortable choosing.

They turned us away at check-in even though we’d paid online. I’d trusted the OYO reviews, but after this experience I feel OYO is a fraud. They also kept Rs 340 from my refund. The attitude was extremely unprofessional. Don’t even consider staying here.
