The Astor Hotel Kolkata

The staff were warm, attentive, and supportive throughout my stay. The hotel is right in the heart of the city, convenient for getting around, yet it still feels like a calm, elegant retreat. The disc and restaurants have a lively but classy atmosphere, and I thought they were amazing. The Astor Kolkata feels like a living piece of heritage. Its old-world charm comes through as soon as you enter, and the beautiful interiors have antiques in every corner, each adding character and its own story.

The staff were very courteous, and it was a lovely touch to have people specifically assigned to help senior citizens. I wasn't reviewing the restaurant, but the food was excellent in both taste and quality, definitely on par with Taj and others. A relative chose this grand, old-school venue for their wedding reception. I loved the interior, and the outside space was roomy too. Since they can't fit many cars inside, valet parking is available. It's right beside Nightangle hosp.

We held my son's wedding reception at this venue, and the hotel management, led by Mr Tanveer, did a wonderful job. All the guests loved the food prepared and served by the hotel. It was a great, feel-good experience.

There isn't much public space in this hotel, but my room is quite nice and makes up for that. I was hoping for a Western-style breakfast, and ended up enjoying the Indian touches too, including traditional sweets, lassie, and different Indian breads. And how do they make the scrambled eggs taste so good? I work caring for others, both professionally and in my private life, so I really appreciated being treated so kindly and looked after so professionally. Indian hospitality hasn't let me down.
