Laxmi Guest House is well placed for attractions and public transport, and my centrally located room was quiet at night. Breakfast was a pleasure, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and attentive service. The room was spacious and spotless, with everything I needed, a very comfortable bed, a welcome note, and complimentary snacks. Staff were friendly and attentive from arrival, check-in went smoothly, and the receptionist offered a complimentary drink. The facilities also impressed me. My stay exceeded expectations, and I’d gladly return.

The people weren’t good, and the price felt way too high. The room looked like it should cost ₹250, but they charged ₹1000 for one hour.

It’s at Jadavpur’s busiest junction, so don’t expect a peaceful night’s sleep. The staff were completely unprofessional. I booked a room by phone for a 70-year-old guest, but when he arrived, the manager denied any conversation and wouldn’t give him a room. Most probably they charged someone in need a much higher price and gave them the room. The elderly guest had to carry all his luggage up and down from the third floor, with no lift or help, for no reason. 😉

The rooms and toilets were dirty and unhygienic, and the amenities were damaged. There was no maintenance at all. The photos of luxurious rooms on goibibo showed something completely different from the rooms we got. They’re just fooling people. Totally disgusting.

The view from Laxmi Guest House was beautiful, especially the back water. The staff were polite and helpful, and the food was delicious. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We had a fantastic tour of Kolkata and would like to visit again.
