Ripples Backwater Resort

If you want a quiet weekend near Kollam, this is a good choice. The property sits beside the backwaters and is fairly close to Sambranikodi boating. The rooms are neat and the service is good, but the whole place is what makes it special. Prices are very budget-friendly. They can arrange boating on request, and small parties or celebrations too.

They can host a lunch or dinner for a small group for different occasions, and it’s affordable. There’s parking for around 25-30 cars plus some bikes. Just be careful with decorations at night, as street dogs come into the property.

The staff were warm and very accommodating, and the open lobby felt spacious and well ventilated. Our cottage was compact but nicely designed, clean, and well set up, with an iron, hair dryer, fresh towels, a patio, outdoor seating, and a hammock. It’s right by the river, and the grounds looked lovely from a distance, though rain kept us from spending much time outside. Breakfast was hot and substantial with a good spread. The other food was okay, nothing gourmet. Getting to the resort is a bit of a damper: roadworks have dragged on for more than two years. That’s down to slow, inefficient road administration, not the resort.

I stopped by to look at the venue for functions, and it seems well suited to small gatherings or intimate weddings. It has a quiet atmosphere and good ambience, away from the city rush.
