Pushpak Grande

The buffet for Rs. 500 was the one good thing, and they were very good at saying sorry. There are tea shops nearby, plus a hotel with Mandi food towards Mallapuram road. But please check whether you’re booking in the new or old building. The new building has good rooms; the old rooms behind it were horrible to stay in. They’re outside the same campus, so you have to leave the new building, cross the main road, and enter the old rooms. The whole stretch smelled of cigrate smoke, with drunkards smoking heavily and coming and going. With a bar on that floor, it didn’t feel safe for families or women traveling alone. Their lifts didn’t work when I wanted to go to the new building for food. They seem to mainly run the place for air line staff. Unless you ask them to clean the rooms, they don’t bother. The hotel picture you see is of the new building. Don’t get cheated by promises of cheaper rooms. They should close the old building rooms and focus on the new building and customers.

The restaurant buffet was a highlight, with plenty of varieties to pick from and everything tasting delicious. Pushpak Grande felt comfortable and well maintained during my stay in Calicut, and the ambience, service, and cleanliness were all top-notch. A very pleasant experience, and I’d highly suggest it for a good stay.

The gym could use more equipment. Even with just a few guests working out at once, it became difficult to use. Otherwise, Hotel Pushpak Grande was clean, well maintained, and comfortable, with warm, polite staff who were always ready to help. Its location, just 5-7 minutes from Calicut Airport, worked well for quick arrivals and departures. I’d consider staying again on a future trip.
