Hotel Karan Villas

The staff here are cheerful and very cooperative, and food can be ordered through room service. It’s a decent, budget-friendly hotel in Kota, near Nayapura and the Chamblriverfront.

There’s a lovely outdoor patio where you can sit and unwind to the sound of peacocks, with lush green trees all around. The property has a heritage feel, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff were helpful and understanding. I thought it was great value for money. There’s no parking for a four-wheeler, though the street outside is wide enough to park safely.

It’s a well-built, grand old property, but it could be looked after better. All the hotel linen is old.

The main drawback is finding the place. It took me a while to locate it, and although the staff are helpful, figuring out the location over a phone call is difficult. I’ve stayed twice and recommended it to a friend, who also had trouble finding it. The rooms are good, the staff are well mannered, and the place gives you a rich Rajput heritage feel. A nice place overall.
