Periyar River lodge

Thomas, Kisor and the rest of the staff took such good care of us at this absolute gem. The chef's food was exquisite and had an interesting twist. They did everything they could to make our stay relaxing and restorative. It'll be hard to find somewhere else that follows this up.

Thattekad is very close, which made this a great base for my birdwatching, and the hotel arranged an excellent guide. The food was the biggest highlight, absolutely incredible, and unlike anything I've had before. The view was amazing too, and the garden felt full of life. My mother and I are dying to come back. If you're ever in Kerala, this place is worth a visit!

The food was delicious, with super fresh ingredients. The chef also made us a wonderful local meal on request, and despite the rain, the team managed to arrange a BBQ dinner. We loved our two days here as a family of four. Sitting by the river together was so calming, and we took a boat ride along it arranged by the hotel, which you shouldn't miss. Periyar River Lodge is a serene getaway, with lush greenery around a well-kept riverside property. The rooms are clean and it has all the amenities you might need. Thomas and his team went above and beyond for us. We definitely recommend a visit, 10/10.
