Hotel Sumangali

We stayed for three nights and four days at this peaceful beachside Goibibo Certified property. Given the location, room, facilities, and amenities, the price we got was unbelievably low and excellent value. Check-in was quick, and our spacious room opened onto a balcony with a sea view. The washroom was neat and clean. Step outside and there are lots of places to eat along the beach walk, about 100 metres away. Bring mosquito repellent incense sticks or the night could be sleepless. Still, we had no complaints or issues, and it was a great stay for our family. Friends or couples would enjoy it too. The owner kindly let us check out an hour later when we asked.

The staff were very helpful and polite, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. It’s a nice place to stay and enjoy Kovalam, right beside the light house beach. I stayed for three days. The rooms are basic, and some have sea views. Getting dropped at the hotel door by car isn’t possible, as with other hotels at light house beach. Depending on where the car can stop, you’ll walk at least 200-450 metres. The staff will help carry your luggage, which is useful. Be ready for mosquitoes too, or you may have a sleepless night.

This is accommodation only at light house beach, Kovalam. Like the other hotels there, it has no direct access from the main road, so taxis can’t come right up to it. Expect to walk at least 300 metres, though staff will meet you at the taxi stop with a handcart and take your luggage to your room. There are two blocks, old and new. I stayed in the three-storey new block on the second floor, where there are sea-view and balcony-view rooms. The restaurant opposite is open from 9 in the morning until 10 at night, but it blocks the ground-floor sea view. The old building has no sea-view rooms, though you can see the sea from its balconies. The staff are friendly, cooperative, and available when needed. The rooms are okay, with hot and cold water, water filters in the lobby, and fairly clean bathrooms. Good value for money, especially if you plan to spend a lot of time at the beach.

The room was very spacious and had a refrigerator, and the toilet was very clean. The hotel is close to the beach and the staff were all very well behaved. Mr. Suresh Piter is a very nice person. I’d like to stay here again.
