The pool was nice, and the rooms were clean, with a mini fridge and private sit-out. Hospitality was very good. It was easy to get around, and I’d like to come back.

The room was roomy and very clean, and having a washing machine was a real help for a longer stay. The staff made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived. I appreciated the comfortable amenities and thoughtful details, and I’d choose this hotel again.

This was the best place we stayed in during our time in India, especially for cleanliness and attentive service. The owner and staff were lovely, and the sea is just a minute away. I’d return if I came back to India. It was also very good value.

The only real plus for us was how close it is to the beach, though other places nearby have the same advantage. The buildings seem old and have been fixed up mainly to look nice, and the furniture felt creaky and worn. We changed our non-AC room to AC after confirming the extra charge would be 500 rupees. The next day they asked us for 1,500. I explained that I’d already paid the remaining amount online, but they acted as if they couldn’t understand us, even though we’d communicated fine the day before. It felt intentional, like they were trying to overcharge us.

New Kolam Beach Hotel has a calm atmosphere, and everything is close by: the beach is a minute away, with shops and restaurants nearby. Our room was spacious and pleasant. Anu Lal is one of the funniest, most cheerful hotel managers I’ve met, and he, the team, and the friends who sometimes drop by made the place feel like home. I was very comfortable there and would recommend staying. When I’m back in Kovalam, India, I’ll return to New Kovalam Beach Hotel. Thanks, Anu Lal and team.
